Dr Tirupati Panigrahi visited inaccessible Dumbada Gram panchayat. He was welcomed by the local community with enthusiasm and was given a traditional ceremonial welcome with Adivasi Dance and music. There were gathering of 1000 Odd Adivasis to meet Dr Panigrahi. Dr.Panigrahi did a padayatra of 5 villages of the panchayat and finally held a open public meeting at headquarter of Dumbada grama panchayat.
Local panchayat members requested Dr. Panigrahi to take up their cause of building a 10 km road to their area, build a high-school upto 10th standard, a hostel for 200 students and mobile connectivity. They imotionally appealed him that since independence their area is totally neglected and needs immediate government attention. If Government does not listen to them their patience may run out and they may resort to agitation.
In the absence of good infrastructure and non availability of immediate medical service, many cases of Death during delivery have been reported. Due to bad road condition ambulance services are not available. Due to absence of irregation project farming is highly impacted and migration of local youth is a regular trend. Local youth are very enthusiastic to study but due to lack of education facility they are deprived of education and local children can not go out for studies as road is inexistant.
Dr Panigrahi agreed to take up their cause and do the needful in what ever way it is feasible through his personal efforts and professional contacts.
